"This reconfiguration of a simple shop into a two-bedroom urban unit is as creative in its conception as in its execution. The architect has seen the potential in the building’s use and space and in the exploration of materials used.
Dedication to recycling and experimentation with materials, in order to find robust and appropriate solutions, has led to an engaging and multi-layered architectural outcome.
Simple but flexible planning and considered placement of openings, along with the adoption of sustainable principles, have created comfortable and engaging spaces.
This project is an exemplar for small urban housing in Tasmania."
